E&M Contractors did a fantastic job of replacing a completely rotted wooden railing on my brick porch. They fabricated custom pickets to match the original historic “dogs leg” (or “goose neck”) style of spindle that was on our 120 year old home in the Beaches. The job was completed quickly and on budget. Service was extremely friendly. I would highly recommend this team.
Working with E & M Contractors was really a delight. I needed to rebuild my front porch that was attached to my neighbours who couldn't afford to do theirs. Mike Zahari explored the options with me, considering my ideas and sharing his. He was very flexible and took the time to make sure I was happy with all the decisions. Our fence blew over in the wind storm earlier this year and needed to be replaced. E&M Contractors were recommended to us and we are delighted with the results. From the first consultation to the final visit they were professional, polite, and informative. Most importantly, the quality of their work was excellent. The project took about a week to complete and during this time their work was tidy and unobtrusive. They were careful not to disturb our garden or the neighbour's garden any more than absolutely necessary, preserving the existing plants growing along the fence. The fence & new gate look great and we are very satisfied.
We hired E & M Contractors to replace the front porch on our 116 year old home. Our aim was to replicate the general look of the old deck using modern materials and safety standards. The porch supports part of the second floor of our house so it was crucial that the job be done right. E & M exceeded our expectations - the new porch fits seamlessly with the style of our home and we have received a number of compliments from neighbours about how great it looks. I really couldn't be happier with the work we had done. Really, it's hard to believe it's our house, in a way. Everything just looks and feels so much sturdier and it is just simply beautiful.
We had our entire front porch rebuilt, as well as an upper deck installed and some other outdoor renovations done by Mike & Tristan... They did a great job on it and offered some good advice on how best to deal with the challenges of fixing up a 100 year old house. Their price was reasonable and they really listened to exactly what we wanted done with the renos.

This summer we decided to do a total renovation of our small backyard. Our designer recommended that we hire E&M Contractors to complete all of the woodwork for the project. From start to finish they blew us away with their workmanship, attention to detail, and kindness.
The wood that we selected for our backyard was a high quality ipe wood. The team at E&M had a lot of experience working with this material and were able to make finishing recommendations that brought out the best in the wood. From the smallest details of making individual dowel plugs (not a screw in sight), to recommending which oil to finish the wood with, everything turned out beautifully. They also designed a hand-crafted bench and matching shiplap wall that brought a sophisticated design element to the space. It was exciting to check the backyard every day and see all the progress that had been made.
Beyond the actual work completed, everyone that we interacted with from E&M was lovely. Tristan and Natacha (and the rest of the team) were truly a pleasure to work with. Working long hours, in less than ideal weather, they still kept an awesome attitude. I would happily refer them to any of my friends and family.
